Capital Search was founded in February 2009 by Charles Francis and Giles Blundell to solve a critical issue in the recruitment industry: the oversupply of unqualified professionals in Banking & Financial Services recruitment. Too often, clients were not receiving the quality of service or talent they deserved. The founders believed that a search firm with a deep understanding of the financial sector could become a valuable partner for institutions seeking top-tier talent.

Charles and Giles, both born and educated in the UK, began their careers at global investment banks in London, such as HSBC, Bear Stearns, and Credit Suisse. With a combined 25 years spent on trading floors and working in Capital Markets, they bring a wealth of firsthand experience to the recruitment industry.
